Artist: Joey D. Age: 15 Title: FACING LIFE Media: colored pencils and crayons “This drawing consists of many different objects and animals. It symbolizes the fact that everything in the Universe, as different as they might be, have something in common. The eye is what I love the most about this picture because it brings back a memory before I had epilepsy. I was in first grade and I drew a picture of the earth with people all around it and I was on the top. This picture was entitled On Top of the World. I recreated that picture in the center of the eye of this drawing. It brings back happy memories of my life before epilepsy,” explains Joey. “This wonderful feeling of being seizure free inspired me to draw this picture where everything needs each other to coexist. I don’t know what lies in store for me, but whatever it is I shall persevere.” |
